Rumor has it that the good folks at Headsp--er, Beatnik keep a sharp eye on the wind conditions in San Francisco Bay, and head out onto the water whenever the surf ("windsurf?") is up. Thomas once said something about feeding the live weather data into Beatnik so that they could keep an ear (rather than an eye) on the wind. I'd like to see the javascript code to do that, actually. :) Brian - --- Brian Clayton "The main motive for going beyond the Rim... stemish@lns.com there's a heck of a big Taco Bell out there..." -- jms ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Apr 1999 23:13:19 EDT From: RThurF@aol.com Subject: Alloy: new Beatnik (on-topic) & Matrix (off-topic) I've been to the page for Beatnik, Inc which looks like it's being remodelled currently. I was looking for a new hat to go with my Headspace one but I don't think their shopping links are up yet. Beatnik's got a few new things on their page which I really enjoyed though, must go back in a few days to see what else is new... and for my off-topic comment, we went to see The Matrix last night & Dave and I both absolutely loved it! All of the actors were fantastic and dealt with the athletic aspects of the film very heroically. I was really impressed at the amount of work that went into it on everyone's part. Has anyone else seen it? I thought it would appeal to many of us here because of the story's relation to computer logic and gaming. I hope they release a 'making of' the Matrix.. I'd love to know how some of the visual effects were done! Robin T ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V4 #116 ***************************
