After you see it, I'll tell you why I got it - I actually just figured it out myself. Strange subconscious stuff, but at least I know myself well enough to be able to get it! :: It's a really interesting little symbol.. I'd love to know what it represents to you exactly! There's a lot to this little one. Where did you come across it? :: You are in New York now, aren't you? I don't think you told us about your move yet....I guess that means it was uneventful. How are you settling in? :: We're getting settled in & we love our new place :) We're not right in NYC but in a small city further upstate, about three hours away. I grew up around here, and I still love this area - it's so appealingly creepy! It was one of the first established cities in upstate NY, and many of the original inhabitants were wealthy business folk, therefore there are an amazing number of ornate Victorian homes in this area, and even a genuine mansion or two (now preserved as museums and art/community centers). I'm happy to say that the truly genuinely haunted house I rented a room in before Dave and I were married is now being preserved to its original condition & made into a B&B!! I can't wait to stay there again, & see if Admiral Asbury's portrait is still looming over the front parlor... :) One of the other benefits of living here rather than NYC is that everything is peaceful & more affordable, and yet there is a thriving art community which has intimate ties to that of NYC. The irreplaceable Thomas Dolby has once again been an inspiration to me, this time in deciding to relocate to a place I love, rather than one I don't care for but feel I must put up with for the sake of my & my husband's careers. Having seen Mr Dolby's work with the Internet, and the many examples of how people can work together over long distances creatively, has shown me that in addition to our local scene, the very finest art communities of the world may also be right here at my fingertips. I didn't like living in NYC when I was there years ago but lived there anyway because I'd been told a working artist needed to live in a huge city in order to get anywhere career-wise. I'm now going to put the Internet to the test & see exactly what can be accomplished on the world stage from my city of choice (plus occasional air travel :) I'll put pictures of our new apartment on my page when it's up. A lot of the original fixtures are still here (such as delicately painted porcelain ceiling fixtures & weird old radiators) so it may be of historical interest to some people. I'd love to go to the NYC convention, though I'd feel like such a tattoo wimp (I only have four!) compared to practically everyone else there, I'm sure. But hearing of the NYC convention reminds me of something I'm sad about. I had wanted to attend Mr Dolby's MP3 convention but our finances are uncertain after relocating, and I don't know if I can make it after all. I really want to go & hear what he's got to say about it. Maybe there will be a transcript of his discussion on the Headspace page..?
