From the least favourite tune point of view,...I must say that there aren't any songs on the albums etc. that I dislike,...everyone has their favourites, and those favourites change over the years, or with your moods,...as for the Neon Sisters, I do often skip that one,...not because I hate it, but because it's so sad,....I'm not sure if the song is about drugs abuse, HIV caught through drugs, or quite what, (maybe someone can fill us in on that?) but having seen the life of a bright & happy friend at university take a nose dive because of substance abuse, it's easy to understand what the pain in the song is about (i.e. anger, helplessness, and pain at the needless waste of a life). I think the song is probably mean't to be disturbing and angry, and I often think of it as TMDR's most personal song. Just because I don't listen to it much maybe shows how effective & disturbing it actually is,...the same daft reason why I don't tend to go and seem films unless they have a happy ending,...stupid, huh??!! LOL! There are so many Dolby songs that are so,...apt somehow,..but I still enjoy that special thrill I get when I listen to TGAOW,...it was so ahead of it's time, even as I came late to it, so cyberpunk (before anyone even knew what that was), and very very atmospheric,....no wonder I've had a penchant for bespectacled nerds ever since then LOL! Maybe I shouldn't tell my husband that one of the first things I liked about him was his little round spectacles,...oops! >grin!< have a great weekend! HI Guys! This is COMPLETELY off-topic, but I just recieved this from a friend in the US,...I'm not saying this couldn't be a hoax, but just in case our state-side alloy buds might want to know, here it is: Bye! I know this is selfish, but, I feel TMDR is at his best when the music is full of longing and heart ache. Like Weightless, Airwaves, One of Our Submarines, Flat Earth, Mulu, Budapest by Blimp, I Live In A Suitcase, the music playing when Byron, holding a dead child in his arms, walks towards the open coffin >Gothic. And, well, I was going to finish my list with Valley Of The Minds Eye, which is superb, but now that I think about it, not sad. I guess that ruins my theory about longing and heartache. Sorry about the self indulgent paragraph. I could talk about the man's music for days. But I do hate Nuvogue too! I treated it with scepticism until I heard from a supposedly reliable source that both British Telecom and Cable & Wireless had issued similar warnings. The safe course of action is not to assist in any 'testing' of your phone by such means. Sorry I'm a bit sluggish on this one but I meant to answer the other day! I am ashamed...I never checked the credit on Hot Sauce, but that sure explains why I don't like it; not a big George Clinton fan here. ===== > > And I have to say that I am surprised, oh mistress of the night, that > you don't take *some* satisfaction from the other two. I dunno...go figure...I am after all the princess of paradox as well eh? > > That would be Club DV8, yes? ===== I don't know where he played in SF but if it was clubDV8 the owners were (the club closed :-( really nice people. They managed/supported the band I was in at one time. It's too bad how many clubs go under in the bay area. The one I'm referring to was in Santa Clara called One Step Beyond, and yup our big club venture went under within a few years...you can't do 7 nights a week gothic/80's format even now, you really couldn't pull it off then. The 2 main owners were both from Britain (making them ahead of their time already) and as much as we all wished there was a larger audience there just wasn't. The club is at least an infamous legend now as it was the first club of it's kind in Silicon Valley...you rock Brits! > > forgetting to ask him how it was really billed? Thank you...you're laughing at me because I'm so new that you guys have probably discussed that tour a million times and I missed every word till now...shame on you. I had been having my "can't remember Shit" disease for days on that one! First word starts with L, first word "lost" 2nd letter...and there she blows...alzheimers... > L8R, > /\/\iles Actually for the experts out there a question from moi? Was it already obvious (or is it even true?) that in using the term "the golden age" TDR was tipping his hat in a way to ancient Egyptian times when it was called this and since his Father was an Archaeologist and he was born in Cairo...oh please don't laugh at me, I only just recently made the connexion at all... Hey WOW have you guys seen the Star Wars trailer yet? I'm going to leave you all to download it...http://www.starwars.com Just a "little" off topic?
