This would save us having to reintroduce ourselves each time a new member arrives...They could simply locate the appropriate photo and description...What do you think Robin? That was until I discovered, just before contracts were to be signed, that there was to be an 'Open Cast Mine' built about 500 yards down the road from my dream country home. I'm now on the lookout for something new and as quickly as possible as the property I am presently in has of course been sold. As far as intros are concerned, I'm a 29 year old Aston Villa fan from Coventry. Falling in love with all that was Dolby at the age of 11. I saw my 1st and only TMDR concert at the Birmingham Odeon during 'The Flat Earth Tour' back in February 1984 (On my 14th Birthday). I live with my Danish Partner Tine in a spacious 3 bed terraced house, but not for long as mentioned above... No Pets...No kids....A couple of very Weird friends...Favourite tipple = Most forms of Real Ale. Also I love working on producing my own and others music in my spare bedroom, which is now referred to as 'The Studio.' I work as a Team Leader for 'Barclaycall' which is Barclays Bank Telephone banking delivery channel. The rarest Thomas Dolby item I possess is a 'Thin Sleeve' Promo CD version of Astronauts and Heretics, which I will cherish forever. I also have a Promo CD of 'I Love You Goodbye' with 3 unreleased versions of the song. Kisses, Trevor.... Powered by all that is tranquil in 'Weightless'.......(and the prospect of the return of Melissa) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 7 Mar 1999 14:46:47 EST From: TBlagg@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: replies In a message dated 04/03/99 09:04:27 GMT Standard Time, andyv@FINALYSYS.com writes: << Maybe that's a topic for discussion... what's your LEAST favourite TD song?! >> This is actually quite a difficult question Andy. As you can probably imagine, they have all through time been repeatedly played over and over, and as such all have a particular place in my life. I'm sure this goes for many if not all on the list. O.K. if I must chose My 'least' favourite Dolby song, at this moment in time it is probably "Get Out Of My Mix" as this can become slightly repetitive, but as I say, even this has a place in my heart...I can remember all the fun I had trying to find a copy and my joy at eventually locating the treasure, even though it was second hand and the cover had a stain on it. Not to worry though, I now have a CD version on the 'Hot Sauce' CD single. ME TOO sorta OH WOW My exhusband once won a bammie, wrong damn year looks like! It is an absurd event unfortunately, I wonder why TD would give it support by being there? I would have to say, in my humble opinion, he is "above" the SF bammie hype. I have something strange to report about a TDR connexion. Last night my daughter's boyfriend was over and I was telling my daughter that one of our all time favourite Thompson Twins song "hold me now" was actually written by Thomas Dolby. Her boyfriend goes oh I've heard of him (he's only 17) my Father worked with him on a project for a few months, a few years back. I DEMANDED he get the details from his Dad ASAP! I think I scared him, so he'll do as I say '-) We live in Silicon Valley just several miles from where I have heard headspace is headquartered? I am wondering if it was beatnik and can't wait to find out the story. His Dad's name is Michael Mills and he was the inventor of the quicktime plugin, headed this project while John Scully reigned as CEO at Apple. I go to apple headquarters every week cos it's down the street and my credit union is there. I did some software testing there once. I am proud to be an apple loyalist.. Yeah I still have a fever and my throat gland is so swollen you can see it! But I'll live... Take care everyone and I'll get back to you if you want details about the above. As a TD fanatic I just want to know EVERYTHING and of course the very idea that Mr. Mills probably didn't even appreciate who Dolby was makes me cringe! Oh and thanks for all of your paranormal support and understanding about my panic disorder, yes the chemicals are a bad idea and I have st johns wort in the house but my shrink always frowns when I threaten to use IT instead of their LONG list of drugs. I'm from 4 generations of Chiropractors in my family. I can't believe I ever let them mess with my brain, but every "female" member of my family for several generations has what I have so I have to believe it is in fact a genetic thing, a real "chemical imbalance" in the brain and not something I can wish away with happy thoughts. My daughter has just recently started having panic attacks (finally has admitted this to me, it's so hard to talk about for victims) and I am beside myself with guilt even though I know passing this down is not my fault. back to bed Debrah > will be presenting at the Bammie Awards in SF on march 13, 30 dollars for > nosebleed seats. >> > ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 07 Mar 1999 13:03:46 -0700 From: Debrah LaRue Subject: Re: Alloy: replies about least fave song Oh dear my least favourite song IS HOT SAUCE. I would really love to feature pictures of Alloy members together with brief bio's. I like the idea of having a simple, five questions format to keep things nice & neat, and perhaps with an optional 'personal statement' at the end if desired. It would be fun to add 'Occupation', 'Interests', etc. to the bio. I'm making some sketches of how I want the layout of the FAQ to look, and touring other people's personal web pages & FAQ's to see some good methods of setting one up. Keep the ideas coming!
