Robyn's correct,...I got the runners up prize (a signed copy of Retrospectacle),...the most annoying thing happened though,...I was so sure that I hadn't won that I didn't bother getting up early for the on-line prize giving, dammit! Would have had a chance to briefly chinwag with our fearless leader. Grrrrr. I could have kicked myself afterwards. Still, I treasure my copy,...though I can't use it much, 'cause the pen TMDR used is coming off the paper everytime I open the case. Hmpphhh. I'm just happy to have it! Everything took a long time to load (even on a T1-LAN connection, which means the problem could be at their end), and the java script on the site was maybe too ambious 8kept crashing). Otherwise it was okay, nice design work....I don't know what all the hype is about though,...there are a myriad of equally good sites out there. The only thing impressive about it seems to have been the member services, which I honestly know nothing about other than what I've read. Sorry to be so negative,...these are just my first impressions. Headspace's Beatnik technology weaves high-quality music and sound directly into HTML code "turning on" music sound clips when users click on or pass over linked spots on a website. By combining Intel's new Pentium III processor with Beatnik's advanced audio capabilities, consumers can also enjoy dynamic, high quality extended play audio without bandwidth constraints or download issues. "Products like Beatnik from Headspace take full advantage of the Pentium III processor capabilities bringing new dimensions to Internet sound delivery," said Tom Galvin, director of Entertainment and Education Market Development at Intel. "Beatnik's technology has the potential to enliven websites through short sound clips or enriched extended play music; interactive audio makes for a more enjoyable PC experience for everyone." "Intel recognizes the benefits of Beatnik and the role sonification will play in the next generation Web experience," said Lorraine Hariton, president and CEO of Headspace, Inc. "Beatnik also offers a comprehensive library of RMF music and sounds in all styles for Internet composers and site authors. Thanks for all the terrific ideas. And I never knew all that about the diamond wars. Unfortunately, we've already picked out a most stunning ring that's filled with diamonds. It's from an independent jeweler, but I still don't know. I'll have to post a picture of it, as well as of Teresa, for you all, soon. It looks like I'll be meeting some more of my Alloy friends this weekend! It will be great to meet you. As far as my fellow Denver Alloyites, maybe we can meet next weekend at the Wynkoop; sound good? (And Beth, you still have my Flat Earth 33-1/3, Keith, you still have my reverb box and I have your Danny Elfman. We could do a swap!) ___________ JAMac (Dennis S.
