If I'm not mistaken, one of our newer Alloy member is a friend of Andy Partridge and has a web page with an extensive interview he did with Andy. From what I remember of the interview, Andy and the boys didn't have such a good contract with the record company and have held off recording anything new in the past few years until this contract from hell ends. As I recall, they were going to release some new material this year because the contract has expired. I think the contract had a bit to do with Andy's "stage fright". Apparently touring was hell due to the way the record company was handling things and the stress that was causing. I wouldn't be surprised if Andy got over the "stage fright" with the end of this contract. Who was it that had the Andy Partridge interview? Hi everyone, I just received this forward from someone who is selling a lot of his record collection. I'm not sure how many of you received this post directly from him, but I wanted to let everyone know about it just in case you hadn't heard. I imagine this will go up on eBay shortly under Thomas Dolby's section. As of this evening none of it's listed there. Thomas/Camera Club portrait description (?) : I visually scanned all the band members on the Camera Club record and swore he wasn't there. Then I went back & peered verrry closely at the first guy on the right whom I'd initially passed up as NO WAY being Thomas... and indeed it was him! In this photo, he's got sort of a short fluffy blond haircut which is laying down, but slightly spikey on top, and a look of utter resentment on his face... he's slouched in a wrought-iron garden chair, dressed from head to toe in the blackest black long-sleeved shirt & tight black leather trousers, a fashionably narrow bright primary yellow tie, black socks and red shoes. I think he was around 20 years old when this photo was taken (the year on the record is 1979) Robin T hoping there aren't empty brackets above her signature... again ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V4 #50 **************************
