With any luck I'll get two songs done then, which'll mean I have 6 in total. Hopefully I'll be able to afford to do one per month from then on (I got made management last week and my pay review is due - what a happy coincidence). I don't think the album'll go beyond ten songs, so with one month for the mastering and CD-writing, advanced calculus dictates that it'll be ready for the padded envelopes in the Autumn. And I shall be ready for the padded cells. the_copse ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Feb 1999 10:19:29 +0000 From: Tim_Dunn.JBA_HEATHROW.SPL_EXTERNAL@jba.co.uk Subject: Alloy: album title? The only thing that really stood out to me were a couple that brought up some strange associations, which may or may not be intended. When I saw "The Bad Column" I immediately thought of the lesser works of various newspaper columnists. And, while I adore the Steely Dan "Aja" album, "Ada" just made me think of the computer programming language by that name (I believe that it was used primarily for military applications). But then, bear in mind that a) I am a world-class geek, and b) my taste in album titles was permanently warped at an early age by REO Speedwagon's "You Can Tune A Piano But You Can't Tuna Fish." :-) Cheers, Beth Beth Meyer bethmeyer@mindspring.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Feb 1999 22:32:09 -0700 From: "Keith Stansell" Subject: Re: Alloy: A Valentine's Gift For My Friends Thank you. Perhaps It would make for good cover art. That's cool. I like it! Magna Sin would be a rockin' album title. I maintain a list of "great album titles", "great and silly band names", and "really cool book titles". While I can't imagine ever being in the position of using my first two lists (yes, it's a strange habit, but it amuses me), I hope to someday use some of my book titles. The funny thing about the book titles is that they are all only two words. They just come to me that way. This hobby started back in high school, when an odd friend of one of my sisters made a stuffed animal - a huge tuna fish - for my mother (Mom made us all tuna sandwiches on Fridays, and my sister's friend had declared Mom to be the Tuna Queen.) The fish was made out of different colors of polyester fabric. Hence, it was the Polyester Tuna. That was the first band name on my list. It just snowballed from there.
