It's probably one of the easiest instruments in the world to play (that and it's electronic cousin the Omniharp). If you can read you can play. Prop it up on your thigh, hug it close to your chest with your left hand on the buttons, then strum the top with your right hand. Press the buttons and that's the chord you get. Very simple. I was going to get one for my wife to play. I was thinking of getting the Omnichord with midi-out. Just yesterday I visited Ye Olde Local Dolby Vinyl Man, and, after many moons of careful consideration, decided to plunk down double-digit cash for the Whodini "Magic's Wand" picture disk (a lovely heavy purple vinyl with blue lettering and a magic wand on it). I've never bought a picture disk before in my life. The gent who sold it to me decided to play it for me in his store before I bought it. I heard that very, very familiar keyboard line and then, I have to tell you, I doubled up with giggles and slapped my hand to my forehead when the rap vocals began with this woman yelling "Oh my god! I think I'm having a rap attack!" It's a riot. If you haven't ever heard this, it's wild because the music is, basically, Puppet Theatre, but fronted with rap vocals/lyrics. The shop owner had never heard Puppet Theatre, so I got to stand there and sing parts of it for him to match the Magic's Wand 45. That was weird, but amusing. Oh - and Lazlo - if you're still out here - I can give you the rest of the details on this one for your discography! Very trippy stuff. Cheers, Melissa - -- Melissa R.
