The one that struck him the oddest was this woman with no arms and no legs who was playing the Star Spangled Banner on a wee porta-keyboard with her nose. She had no wheelchair with her or any other means of getting around so Mark figured someone must drop her off in the morning and pick her up at night. Accordions seem to be taking off in popularity. You hear them a lot in commercial jingles and shows like Drew Cary. ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ >I totally agree with you on the fact of being rated by how you >play then by what kind of instrument you have. ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ Yep, it's so refreshing. And I found that my fellow keyboard players were the biggest gear-snobs I knew. All of the other keyboardists used to laugh and call me names. They wouldn't let my crappy gear join in any keyboard games. But now I play accordion and get all the session work. Fools! They laughed at me. Soon I will have my revenge then who will be laughing MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I gave up the 9 to 5 rat race to be a stay-at-home dad and now I have my evenings and weekends free to work in the music industry. ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ >Thus these days I'll pick my accordion every once in awhile to play and >feel like a musician again. She starts dancing around and it looks so cute. She even sings. Living in Canada is great... until winter comes around. :) But it is a country where accordions are pretty well accepted. Lots of folk musicians. Although the guitarists sometimes mock me when I'm at the clubs. CRACKERS (Ooooh another accoustic 6-string. I'd be interested to know what clan that would be. I myself could most likely claim lineage to the clan Mac Gregor from my dad's side of the family. My fiance's lineage is of the Gunn clan; which is the Viking clan of Scotland. He's the Deputy Commissioner of the Clan Gunn society of Southern California. I'm his helper and secretary. Well, now that I've said my two cents, I'll step down. Of course not before saying what I've said before about our favorite musical artist. Mr. Robertson doesn't know it, but his last name is a major sept name of the Scottish clan of Donnachaidh. A very well known clan and very old. By the spelling of it, it sounds ancient! Is it somehow linked to Clan Donald? I don't know exactly which clan I'm from. I've been wanting to do some research into it. Though my grandfather is still alive (84 years old!) he was abandoned by his father when he was but a wee lad. All I know is that one of my ancestors helped rebuild Chicago after the great fire. But, according to common knowledge, the Alexanders got their name from Queen Margaret of Scotland, one of the many daughters of Henry VIII. She grew up in the Hungarian courts where she often heard the Greek name. Eventually she married Malcome, king of Scotland, who was from the Clan of Donald. When he died, she renamed their son Alister, Alexander. He named his son Alexander. Eventually there was another king from another clan who was named Alexander as well, so, hence, the name became popular in Scotland. I know of at least 4 clans where the name is common so I've adopted the one that started the name, the one that the first King Alexander of Scotland started, Clan MacAlister. Hence my alias James A. MacAlister, or JAMac. ___________ JAMac (Dennis S.
