This topic arose because we were listening to Haydn minuets which were written in this manner. I asked about it & was told it is very difficult to write something this way, to get the progressions & harmonies correct in both directions etc. I didn't see why it would be particularly difficult though, if anything, in all my ignorance I think it would be easier to write this way because you would already have the 'template' of the first half to work from. So.. has anyone here ever tried to write something this way, and was it difficult? Alas, I'm a specialist in the former Soviet Union, and I manage international development programs. I'm a hopeful freelance writer, too, but no bites on any of my submissions yet. The one advantage I'd have over other candidates is my Goodwill work, administering humanitarian aid/rehabilitation programs.
