Hello all.. Robyn M said that she & her good hubby doth liveth at 45° 30' 51" N 122° 29' 54" W I live at Rue Marcellin Berthelot, Clichy, which is 45° 54' 12" N 2° 18' 12" E Which is 8258km away, or 5161.25km away, at a bearing of 325°. Incidentally, if you program my coordinates into your astrology chart effort wotsit, what does it tell you about me, other than that I am a sad trainspotter with a penchant for trivia, gadgets and crap soccer teams ? A+ John PS And the music of TMDR, of course. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Jan 1999 14:20:29 -0800 (PST) From: Elaine Linstruth Subject: Re: Alloy: guest appearance in dreams Another thing that makes for really bizarre and vivid dreams are any kind of steroid (or related) drug. I had a corticosteroid prescribed once for one of my famous ear-sinus-bronchitis deals. No one warned me and for about 6 days I had awful vivid nightmares! Thank god that Rx wasn't long-running. Beware this side effect if you're ever prescribed such a thing! As far as the occasional insomnia that gets out of hand, Robin, there are some really good, safe non-habit-forming OTC meds you can buy without feeling guilty. They really do work, especially if you only very rarely rely on them. At the risk of generating boredom with some off-topic remarks let me tell you a little bit about one of my hobbies. The picture with Vonda Shepard was taken in early 1998 when she performed a concert at Town Point Park in Norfolk. I caught her afterwards and spoke to her briefly and she is truly a polite individual which she showed by stopping and signing autographs for all who asked. I enjoy getting photos taken with all sorts of celebrities and some of my favorites have been with Muhammad Ali, Margaret Thatcher, Mickey Mantle, Wayne Gretzky, Mary Tyler Moore, Joe Dimaggio, Bob Dole, Roddy McDowell, Christopher Reeve, and of course, Thomas Dolby. TMDR had always been tops on my list of people to meet and thanks to Alloy I managed to accomplish that in '98. It's fun to meet famous folks as they pass through Virginia but sometimes it takes a lot of time and patience. The good thing about being stuck in the '80's (as my musical tastes are) is that the current retro tours offer bands that are incredibly fan friendly such as The Fixx and The Human League. My wife always says that it's because I'm the only one that still listens to them! Still hoping for another Dolby tour someday, M.
