I haven't heard this yet, but I have heard the new Fireman CD and damn
if it's not great. Who knew McCartney had something like this in him?
He's what, 67(ish)? This definitely won't get the attention as a
normal solo album would, but maybe that's OK. It's definitely not a
commercial album, but it is adventurous and hits far more than misses.
The first Fireman record is abysmal -- it's just a bunch of
spontaneous remixes of a single set of basic tracks, so it sounds like
an hour's worth of the last song on any dance remix single circa
1993 -- but the second one, RUSHES, is a very nice, highly underrated
album.
