On a brighter note, my 8-year-old daughter for the most part doesn't want anything to do with my music. But her 3rd grade class just had a music recital featuring music from the 50's and 60's. Now all of a sudden The Beatles are a lot cooler to her...so much that we've been playing Beatles Rock Band with her on vocals.
