I find that if I remove any thoughts of his earlier work, I really enjoy this CD. I had read an interview with him about the CD before buying it, so I had an idea it was not going to be similar. I think that helped me to listen to it on it's own instead of being blindsided by the different sound. michael   "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly" ________________________________ From: Jeff Shelton To: audities@smoe.org Cc: michael.cornely@sap.com Sent: Thursday, December 8, 2011 11:18 AM Subject: Re: AUDITIEST POLL 2011: Best of 2011 Mike, Modern Art is my least fave Matthew Sweet album to date. It's strong on texture, psychedelic guitar noodling, and experimentation ....short on songs and memorable or melodic hooks. A difficult listen IMHO.
