Glad to see you mention Jason & the Scorchers; amazing album that's gotten zero 
attention.  And I too was surprised by the Rumer album; it's the best kind of 
MOR.  Will have to check out the Judson Claiborne, which sounds right in my 
wheelhouse.

I guess the closest thing to power pop would be Superchunk.  I would recommend 
the Rose Elinor Dougall.  And if you're a soft pop fan, my #11 selection (my 
honorable mentions are in order) Rumer is all Karen Carpenter/Burt Bacharach 
goodness.  She went platinum in the UK, and I presume she will do very well when 
introduced to the States.
