A couple of London shows this week Iım involved in that Iıd like to tell you about. The first is a memorial concert for my friend and string arranger Robert Kirby who passed away a year ago on Sunday. The concert is on Sunday afternoon at Cecil Sharp House: http://snipr.com/cecilsharpmap. Advance tickets are £25 and can be purchased here: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/93603 Iım on the bill with Teddy Thompon, Vashti Bunyan, Ben and Jason (reformed for one show only!), Steve Ashley, and a special guest whose management asked us not to publicize his involvement in the event, but if you look through Robertıs list of collaborators on his Wiki page and deduct all the ones that have died, then pick a really famous British artist from the list and youıve probably got the right person! Two nights later on Tuesday October 5th Iım playing a special one-off showcase with a string quartet at The Catweazle Club at The North London Tavern. Catweazle is an unusual musical experience - a listening room with no amplification. This is going to be a magical night of music. Iıll be playing all the songs from my album which have strings, and a few more too. The North London Tavern is at 375 Kilburn High Road, here: http://snipr.com/catweazlelondon The cover is £5 at the door and Iıll be on around 9pm. And if all that werenıt enough, Mojo Magazine gave me an excellent four star review in their current issue!: http://tinyurl.com/LukeMOJOreview I hope to see some of you at either of these shows. Sincerely, Luke Jackson
