I've seen both Jason & the Scorchers and the Fleshtones live. Both bands blister the paint off the wall, and I'd drop anything to see either one, but if I had to say which band is the best at delivering the goods I'd have to give it to the Fleshtones by a nose. Gregory Sager P.S. I may be a minority of one on this, but I've stubbornly insisted in more than one argument that the all-time-best Dylan cover is *not* Jimi Hendrix's version of "All Along the Watchtower", as great as it is; it's Jason & the Scorchers' hell-bent-for-leather take on "Absolutely Sweet Marie" off of the *Fervor* EP. --- On Mon, 6/21/10, audities-owner@smoe.org wrote: > From: audities-owner@smoe.org > Subject: audities-digest V7 #137 (2 msgs) > To: audities@smoe.org > Date: Monday, June 21, 2010, 10:10 PM > The Audities Digest: for the > discussion of insanely great pop > Volume 7 : Issue 137 : "text" Format > > Messages in this Issue: >   Re: The Bottlerockets        >             ["Bill Jones" > ] >   Re: The Bottlerockets        >      [Miles Goosens ] > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Date: Mon, 21 Jun 2010 02:36:42 GMT > From: "Bill Jones" > To: audities@smoe.org > Subject: Re: The Bottlerockets > Message-ID: <20100620.223642.8175.0@webmail11.vgs.untd.com> > > Miles wrote: > >  2010 has been blessed with something even better > in the roots department: Jason & the Scorchers' HALCYON > TIMES, which is on the level of their greatest material > (1983's FERVOR EP, 1985's LOST AND FOUND, 1996's CLEAR > IMPETUOUS MORNING).  They also happen to be the best > live rock band ever > > > While I really can't disagree with your "best live rock > band" tag, as I haven't seen Jason & The Scorchers, I'm > curious Miles...
