Hey Y'all, Just a quick recommendation...went to see Brendan Benson for the first time last night in San Diego. Great show! There are, of course, those who sound worse, the same or better in a live setting vs. the recording output. I would definitely put Brendan Benson in the latter category. He did a fair amount of material from each of the 4 releases. ONE MISSIPPI remains one of my favorite CD's of the genre (so the recommendation comes with that bias for sure.) The best songs sounded even better. A comedic point occured when someone threw a T-Shirt on stage which Brendan held up stating, "Who the F*ck is Jack White?!" Ha ha...no Raconteurs songs were played (to my knowledge.) The opening act was Frank Fairfield who was great if you like blue-grassy/ragtime banjo/fiddle/bluesy guitar. If you're into such things, I recommend you check his YouTube videos! -Jeff http://www.myspace.com/17Pygmies http://www.myspace.com/smoldering_ashes
