My thoughts: It's not that the Who didn't live up to "...hope I die before I get old." It's that they DID live up to their album entitled "The Who Sell Out". Whether it was the Broadway-ization of Tommy (anyone who saw it knows what I mean) or selling soft drinks or E-Trade on TV, Pete seemed not only to sell out quietly, but with relish. That's what eats at me, a long time fan, the most. Tony -----Original Message----- From: Lee Elliott To: audities@smoe.org Sent: Thu, Feb 11, 2010 10:27 pm Subject: Re: Loud criticism of The Who? Just guessin' - I personally love 'em no matter what they do - but Pete's ad a history of making grand public statements then changing his mind, aybe leave's himself open for a little extra flamin' occasionally - but hat's just who he is for better or worse. Again - it's nothing that's ever iminished me enjoying their music over the years. Lee n Thu, Feb 11, 2010 at 10:56 AM, Michael Myers wrote: > ok then.......
