Good grief, I forgot a few, can I amend my list? 1. Michael Carpenter - Redemption #39: The wonder from down under just keeps getting better! 2. The Corner Laughers - Ultraviolet Garden: watch out for these guys -- the meek shall inherit the Earth! 3. The Orange Peels - 2020 - It's a testament to a fine pop outfit when hearing an album makes you want to go back and also discover their earlier releases! 4. Harper Simon - s/t: Sings and writes more like his dad used to, than his dad does now. 5. Norah Jones - The Fall: Reminds me that songs are not necessarily about endless layering and clutter. Songs like "Chasing Pirates" are deliciously understated, but loaded with authentic, distorted, analog originality. Somehow I always get the feeling that she could very quietly drink some big ol' truck driver under the table.
