As is the case with what appears to be a goodly number of people on this list, I detest the RRHOF but I enjoy the debate about the worthiness of this act or that act. For many of us who hold no truck for the music produced by the man in the white bucks, the Pat Boone discussion demonstrates that it's fun to step back from one's own tastes and examine an artist objectively, based upon the worthiness criteria presented in the debate. F'rinstance, I heartily dislike Genesis both in its prog and pop incarnations, but I can see a case for the band based upon the merits presented for induction -- that is, if I set aside that: a) I don't believe that there should be a RRHOF; and b) I consider its selection process for induction to be dubious.
