This was a great thread... I went on Lala.com and picked up a few websongs (I love their business model that lets me essentially permanently "rent" "websongs" for $.10 each)... amongst some wandering, found a bunch of these songs and also a garage comp I didn't know about... and an informed listener there who recommended about 30 of the 100 songs on the comp as being superior... so now I have nice cool songs to listen to for the next few hours, stuff I'd never find on my own in all likelihood... ________________________________ From: Marty Rudnick To: audities@smoe.org Sent: Tue, October 27, 2009 2:52:08 AM Subject: Re: Psychedelia timeline So fine! Thanks Michael... I actually own the Eden Ahbez "Eden's Island" album, which is very tiki-tropical-spoken word. He is the ultimate proto-hippie. To me, the ultimate psych track was "Tales of Brave Ulysses"...while reading Zap Comix. I love this group...one day remembering Soupy Sales, the next, waxing nostalgic about Purple Double Dome.
