The Gladstone Hotel on Queen Street, the same street the Riv is on and a short streetcar ride away. It is between the Drake Hotel, (great bar with good Indie Bands in the basement and a heated roof top lounge), and The Caddilac Lounge and Stones Place. The Caddy has artists like Robert Gordon and Wanda Jackson and like-minded local acts, and Stones has a million dollar Rolling Stones memorabilia collection. This is a great city for music...hope you can srat the weekend or a week. bob www.fyimusic.ca www.radiothatdoesntsuck.com --- On Fri, 10/16/09, Hastie, John wrote: From: Hastie, John Subject: Toronto Hotels To: audities@smoe.org Received: Friday, October 16, 2009, 12:37 PM Hello everybody, I had the pleasure of attending the Charlotte Pop Fest where I saw & heard many outstanding songs and sets.  The artists were very friendly, the in-stores were loose & fun, and I picked up several items that the artists signed for me including a 12" vinyl version of "Meteor" by Shazam!  And hanging out with other Auditeers was icing on the cake. I'm already looking forward to attending next year. Meanwhile I'm seriously considering a road trip to Toronto for IPO and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a hotel in the vicinity of the Rivoli?  All I need is a room with the basic amenities since I expect to spend most of my time exploring the city and going to the shows. And recommendations of record stores to visit are also appreciated! Thanks, John
