Thanks for responses to my question everyone. Yes, I think I'll try a Sony first, i.e. the Sony 410LP. It's supposed to be very light and portable, and it was the first headphone about which I read a review, in which someone complained that it had too much tremble rather than bass! I don't like a bass heavy sound myself. Also, I've read that people claim that headphones sound differently after a "burn in" period, during which they can get either better or worse sounding. I've never read about this effect, but it would explain why I have 2 identical headphones, which sound quite different.
