Stroud is a Chicago DJ who has hosted an oldies show called *Rock'n'Roll Roots* for many years on at least two different radio stations in the Windy City. There's ten or so volumes in the series at this point, and they cover the playlists of Chicago AM superstations WLS and WCFL from (roughly) 1965-72. There's thus a lot of well-known oldies that you can hear or find anywhere, but there's a few regional hits (such as the two you mentioned) mixed in that are unfamiliar to those who were either outside the broadcast range of those two stations during their heyday or are too young to remember that era.
