As a matter of fact, I envy those people who got to fully embrace the college folk/hootenanny scene, and the beatnik, bebop and west coast jazz scene. So I wouldn't mind having been born a few years earlier. > > Marty > >Very well stated. I was born a bit earlier ,but all I could add to your list was Elvis Presley , and the impact he had. But nothing hit me harder than the Beatles and Beach Boys. Being around for all of that was truly rewarding. Beyond those I would have to site 4: Todd Rundgren- A wizard for sure, he ruled my world for a long time. It was fun just keeping up with him. I do admit to falling out of favor around "No world Order" ,but never completely. Heck, I named my son after him! The Kinks- I always thought Ray would compose a musical that would conquer the world. Alas, the Noel Coward of rock made some amazing music , and Dave played exciting guitar. NRBQ- Their records are way fun, but it was their live shows that blew my mind. I don't think I ever watched musicians so thrilled by the music thay were making. Every show had moments to cherish forever. I didn't even mind the transition from Al Anderson to Johnny. I miss them dearly. Glad Terry is still out there getting it done. Look forward to some future music by Johnny and Joey [I heard that was happening] Prefab Sprout- Pop heaven for me. And a new album on the horizon. The 30th anniversary edition of "Steve McQueen" was revelatory. If there is a band presently that even hints at getting in line with all of the above it would be Wilco. Gene God save the Kinks! _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live™ Hotmail®: Search, add, and share the web’s latest sports videos.
