Oddly this past weekend I was at an outdoor arts festival in Columbus Ohio for a north campus neighborhood. Over the loudspeaker they were playing, "Hitchin' a Ride" by one hit wonder, Vanity Fair (if memory serves?). I think I was still in elementary school, or early junior high at the time. What struck me was how long it had been since I actually heard this song, which I remember fondly on AM Radio. Also, there was some serious cowbell in the last half of the song which I had no recollection of. It also was way more on the psychedelic side than I remember. It caught me off guard. Was everything psychedelic at that time and this didn't stand out? Could my memory be seriously flawed? Could I have been having an acid flashback when I heard it this past weekend and that was making it more psychedelic that it actually was? So many questions for which I may never know the answer....... Tom Warfel, 51, gracefully aging boomer boy
