I love the cd by Pale Hollow, which I think would be right in this same vein. Very concise songs, almost power pop, but with a certain touch of folk rock and psych. The singer sounds not unlike obscure 80s band The Steppes' guy, which gives Pale Hollow that same type of late 60s mystic or prog-ish vibe. Other reference might be early Mock Turtles. I'll second the Starling Electric recommendation. Also try the Summer Wardrobe album. Rafael.
