CvS singing Sentimental Lady. Sounds like a good night already. -craig ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Chris von Sneidern Date: Sun, Mar 1, 2009 at 1:21 AM Subject: [chrisvonsneidern] PC vs. Who...Mac? So, now that the Paul Collins trib is over, the Who/Townshend thing is done, now it's time for Fleetwood Mac. I'm not going to take much time to explain that the Fleetwood Mac is more than the post-punk kneejerk hate-able successful Buckingham/Nicks version of the band (at coke worst, better than any band we'll ever be in) that made plenty of great songs along the way. Just take my word that Fleetwood Mac had a long career because they kept the rhythm section and (despite any whims) kept changing the faces with the times, and not to be compared with Mac Davis, or The Starland Vocal Band. I got swept up in the tribute thing this time because I do the sound, but I'm very happy to be a part of this. These guys did a supreme justice to Lee Hazlewood, and now they're onto the MAC. They're good enough at this that people feel compelled to tell THEM who to cover next. Life is a challenge; when you're good, people start pullin' on you. I've suggested some ideas to them myself! I'm stopping here, but read below, the rest of the story is there- cvs PS I'm singing Sentimental Lady ---------------------------------------------------------- From the same group that brought you McCartneyfest, and The Lee Hazelwood Tribute (My Baby Cried All Night Long)... Dustystax and the Gold Star Band are proud to present... Walk a Thin Line - A night of Fleetwood Mac 24 of The Mission's finest musicians and singers (including members of Citay, Camper Van Beethoven, Jackpot, Harbours, Marabelle Phoenix, Pillars of Silence, The Herms, Two Sheds, The Court and Spark, Prairiedog, and more) will pay tribute to the music of Fleetwood Mac. Twenty years of the band's music will be represented... starting from the down and dirty blues of 1969's English Rose, through the 3 smash albums of the late 70's, and into the sugary sweet 80's of Mirage and Tango in the Night. Two sets - 25 songs! 21 singers including... Meryl Press, Chris von Sneidern, Victor Krummenacher, Tom Heyman, Spencer Owen, Josh Pollock, Jason Kocol, Kira Lynn Cain, Noelle Cahill, Miguel Zelaya, Sarah Bird, Donelle Malnik, Sarah Bethe Nelson, Stephanie Finch, Brian Sullivan, Anna Wren Woodrum, Jeffrey Luck Lucas, Heidi Alexander, and Nile Nash. The band includes Marc Dantona on bass, Tom Heyman and James Finch Jr. on guitars, Rusty Miller and Matt Lebofsky on keys, Anna Wren Woodrum on vocal and percussion, and Chris Sipe on drums, plus special guests! ALSO special guest DJ Kurt spinning "Sailing" Soft-Rock at The Make-Out Room Sunday March 1st, 8 pm On a sad note, we will miss our bandmate Justin Frahm and his great contributions to this project because he has to attend a family funeral. Our thoughts go out to the Frahm family. http://myspace.com/dustystax
