I just bought the vinyl release of Ryan Adams and The Cardinals "Cardinology".  As with most new vinyl releases, inside was a little card with info on downloading the digital files.  What I thought was interesting is that the 320 kbps mp3 files are ripped from a vinyl playback of the album and contain needle drops and some minimal surface noise.  Perhaps a little gimmicky but kinda cool.  

...and the album is quite good too.
