There was great energy Tuesday night of IPO in San Francisco. Wednesday was a bit of a letdown, not due to the bands, who were great, but because of the tiny attendance. Tonight's show promises to be another good one. Thursday, August 14Rockit Room 406 Clement St.415-387-6343$88:00 One Silver Astronaut - sounds like they studied at the spinning jennies/rosenbergs school of pop8:30 The Barbary Coasters - retro late 50s/early 60s style pop/rock with female vocals 9:00 Adrian Bourgeois - talented young songwriter; son of Bourgeois Tagg's Brent Bourgeois9:30 Laurie Biagini - groovy 60s style pop; pretty harmonies and lots of ba ba bas, oohs, etc10:00 Hope Chest - long time oakland band with shoegazer roots10:30 The Kimberly Trip - power pop with female vox and entertaining lyrics - they have a good stalker girl song11:00 The Luxury Sweets hi energy pop with glam tendencies, some of their songs remind me of The Singles a bit If you can't attend, do yourself a favor and check out the myspace pages of the bands playing IPO.
