I received the following email last night from Audities Magazine co-founder Anthony Henderson concerning Gary Littleton, and he has given his permission to repost it here. Gary had suffered from mercury poisoning which in turn had forced Audities to cease publication. But in recent years he'd returned to posting here on occasion, especially regarding the topic of Midwestern power-pop which he loved and championed. But it appears the struggle finally got the best of him. I will let Anthony's words explain further. - Michael -------- Original Message -------- Date: Wed, 09 Jul 2008 12:14:19 -0400 From: Anthony Henderson Gary suffered a massive stroke involving the right hemisphere of his brain last June. After extensive therapy and rehab he was released from hospital paralyzed on the left side of his body and confined to a wheelchair. He continued to seek therapy and rehab here in Tampa for several months. He made some progress but not to his satisfaction. He then sought more alternative and conventional therapies in Dallas for several additional months. Gary returned to Tampa with his partner in early June. He was exhausted from a year of hard work that would have worn down an able-bodied person. He was weary and had lost hope for recovery. He contacted Hospice shortly after returning and began putting his affairs in order. In short, Gary passed away on June 28th . I am still in a state of shock as are all of us who were there at the end. I apologize for the cut and dried presentation of this sad news. There is really no way that I know of to soften the blow. Best Regards, Anthony Henderson
