It's been out for a while now and it's not power pop, but I'll bet a lot of Auditeers would enjoy THE BEAUTY ROOM, a self-titled album by a couple of Brits with a background in electronica but an obvious love for 70s West Coast harmonies (I'm hearing America, Seals & Crofts, Todd R and early Steely Dan, among others.) Soulful and absolutely gorgeous. If you're hooked by "Soul Horizon," the first cut on their MySpace page ( http://www.myspace.com/thebeautyroom) I strongly recommend checking out the rest of the record. It may be filed under "Electronica" but is far more organic-sounding than any so-called chillout music I've heard before. The CD has been easing my LA commute for weeks. Drew
