Since Rick gave us all such an insightful review of the new Weezer album, I thought I'd post the counter-point. I've never really lived Weezer...although I like the idea of Weezer (much the same as Fountains Of Wayne). The only Weezer album I can truly say I like is "Pinkerton" and the only FOW is the 1st. (not to say I don't like songs off of every album). The new Weezer has a much more Pinkerton vibe to it - So, if you liked that one, you might like this one. A warning though: The new Weezer has some really bad lyrics/rhymes. On a more positive note, I saw The Bellfurries tonight and they were excellent. If you like the updated Beatle-esqe pop of someone like The Redwalls, I think you'd enjoy this. I heard the drummer used to play with Big Sandy and there is a hint of the Beatles country in the band, but that may be the power of suggestion (or just the fact that roots & country & pop intersect on so many levels). Check them out on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/bellfuries Finally, I'm not sure if this was already discussed, but the song in the new Saturn Aura commercial made me do a web search. It's Tim Myers "The Good Life" and you can hear the song on his website: http://www.timmyersmusic.com or on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/timmyersmusic Dan FrankE ATX
