I don't really have a top ten on this one, but this made me think about
how I used to be so put off by Andy Partridge's voice that I never even
listened to any other aspects of XTC, until a boy I was smitten with
played Nonsuch for me in a car the whole way across the country while
explaining exactly why he thought it was brilliant. Now I'm such a fan of
Partridge's vocals that I cannot even imagine what the hell I thought I
didn't like about them.

(For the record, this remains the one and only time I have ever been
talked into liking music.)

Robin Zander would surely be #1,
