yeah lambert's patio was off the beaten track.... so attendance varied (cabs are non-existant) saw a bit of the deadbeat poets before being pulled away... primal sounds for sure... very impressed by astra heights who had all their families there my lad ari shine poured his heart out at same venue.... upstairs at the same venue was a blues showcase - snuck up there to see former homeless man honest jon washington destroy the place - skinny dreadlocked little 70 year old guy playing el;ectric blues guitar like i've never seen before.... after the last song, with every mind blown there, he puts the guitar down and runs out the door.... wild! saw carbon/silicon (mick jones/tony james) - surprisingly poppy short songs! saw x with all original lineup (billy zoom is god - they were great) saw daryl hall - really liked it - saw darando last night - old 70s bay area black soul guy half esquerita/half james brown with an amazing daptones style back up band - also caught ugly beats and paul collins at get hip showcase - blistering sets - cynics tore the place down while the stems' set was cut short by the pa system blowing up or soundman taking off - not really sure what happened... other stuff - amy levere (female stand up bassist roots artist from memphis) blue rodeo and friends, ' and saw Duffy! - jury's out for me - the hits were great - some of the other white brit soul stuff verged on the sade side for me - she looks wonderful tho the restrictive stage area (they were first band so gear was pushed right to the front) didn't give her much room to manouevre.... more as i remember.... just waking up after a late night.... on my way to waterloo records now.... hopefully will pick up some goodies... ralph http://www.myspace.com/ralphalfonso
