Post-punk cult legends Robyn Hitchcock and Andy Partridge are working on a collaborative album together. The duo are currently recording songs together in Partridge's shed in Swindon, reports Billboard. Hitchcock explained the reasons behind their collaboration, saying: "I think it's good for me to be brought up against somebody else, another songwriter. I really think about how everything fits together. "[It's] a self-generating project. I write the words on the train going up to Swindon and then, bang, we record it in his shed." Although the two musicians have a number of other separate projects on the go - Partridge is recording a solo album following the retirement of XTC , while Hitchcock has just completed another album backed by The Venus 3, featuring REM 's Peter Buck on guitar - they plan to release their work together at some point. Partridge and Hitchcock have already released one song written together, ''Cause It's Love (Saint Parallelogram)', which featured on Hitchcock's 2006 solo album with The Venus 3, 'Ole! Tarantula'.
