Michael -- Your post seems to feed into John's point. Almost every negative post I've read on Audities about Amy Winehouse has been a quick putdown. I've never read anyone who has explained why she is not worthwhile. While her live performances swing wildly, on disc, I think she's a fantastic singer -- her tone, her phrasing, her range -- all terrific. She truly engages with her material. Moreover, she's an ace songwriter, with lyrics that are sometimes witty and often quite perceptive.
