It was, but not for him: believe it or not, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band 
took a pretty good cover of "Mary Anne" into the country charts in 
1983.

Actually, as far as Crenshaw goes, I always thought "Blues Is King" 
(basically MC backed by Let's Active) would be an excellent 
introduction to the man.
