Disappointment Fountains of Wayne I usually a fan of these guys, but this one to me sounded like they were just going through the motions. Years ago around the time of "Green," Peter Buck said they could write "R.E.M. type of songs" all day long. They were trying to break away from that by swapping instruments while recording Green. I feel that FoW are stuck in a rut of just writing FoW type of songs and as a result, the new album sounds tired to my ears.
