You know, some AOR is rather close to Powerpop. Personally, I'd argue that a lot of the stuff Rick Springfield made during the 80s is great from a powerpop point of view, even though I think he was usually seen as an AOR act.

Generally, I like AOR that builds upon elements from prog, fusion and/or powerpop while I have more problems accepting the more hard rock influenced side of AOR. So, in short, yes to Toto, but no to Journey.
