I'm always surprised by the anti-Hootie virulence that surfaces when people talk about them. They make some pretty, respectable, four-square pop music. Mark Bryan, their lead guitar player, made a pretty good power-pop record a few years back with the help of Don Dixon and Jamie Hoover (if I'm remembering correctly). And they continue to provide Peter Holsapple with a way to support his family as their touring guitar/keyboard player. And if they're the luckiest bar band on earth, so be it. There are far worse ways to make a living. john micek On Dec 28, 2007, at 8:41 AM, Holmes Online wrote: >> Seriously, having Hootie there made it an embarrasment. >> Lyle...that was >> just weird. > > Hoote just continues to be the luckiest bar band in history (Bob > was wrong, it was NOT the Stones). > > Lyle was an interesting choice, but I can't put Lyle and "weird" in > the same sentence unless I'm looking at his wedding photo with > Julia Roberts. > > b >
