Hi Michael, Yep...The Toons and John Stewart were my regular reasons to visit Chucks. On a related note, there was a Kingston Trio documentary on PBS today, and it will be on again tomorrow night. I was sooooo lucky to see them play a show at a small club in Ghirardelli Square about 10 years ago (with Bob Shane and Nick Reynolds!). They sang with gusto, and hung with the crowd between sets. A special night! It would almost be worth being 15 years older to have been able to catch the old beatnik/Hungry i/north beach/lenny bruce/hootenanny folk scene in its prime. Because whilst you were swilling & spilling at Chuck's, I was awash in poopy diapers an hour south in Watsonville. Though when I lived behind Tower Records in '79 I did catch one of John Stewart's regular gigs there (just down El Camino). I understand Chuck's was also known as the first place Linda Ronstadt's performed with her now infamous backup band. And I was very sorry to have missed Kate Wolf as I understand she was also a regular. - michael > -----Original Message----- > From: audities-owner@smoe.org [mailto:audities-owner@smoe.org] On Behalf Of > Michael Coxe > Sent: Tuesday, December 11, 2007 8:03 PM > To: audities@smoe.org > Subject: Re: Pet Sounds-a-like > > > > The Toons, from the 1982 lp Looking At Girls: "So Far" & "Elena". > > - Michael > -- If this email is spam, report it here: http://www.onlymyemail.com/view/?action=reportSpam&Id=NzQ4Nzk6NDc5MDcwNzEyOm 1ydWRuaWNrQG1hcnR1cm8uY29t
