And my favorite bassist of all time - Danny Thompson. His double bass work 
with Pentangle, Nick Drake, John Martyn and Richard Thompson is spectacular. 
I've had the pleasure of seeing him live many times and he's always amazing.

And whoever mentioned Colin Moulding deserves a coveted power pop no prize. 
He channels McCartney in hyperdrive.
