I have an iTrip and i'd agree that if you're going on a long journey
then you need to keep re-tuning it.  Perhaps it's different in the US
but the UK seems to have its radio frequencies jam packed and its
tricky to find some space for the iTrip.

I had a Belkin tape adaptor which plugs into the tape player and has a
trailing phono connector for the iPod.  They don't seem to last that
long though - but they are cheap.

If all else fails - wear your headphones in the car.
