The post-Blue Sky Mining albums shifted in sound because they stopped working with British producer Warne Livesey who had moved permanently to Canada to work with Matthew Good, 54.40 and my label's The First Time (he produced their 2004 album "It's On" and remixes of three of those songs now appear on their follow-up album 'TakingBreakingDown'). Livesey played keyboards on most of the Midnight Oil albums....so there was a shift there as well.
