As some of you may already know Glasgow band Aereogramme have decided to call it a day at the end of their current tour. From their MySpace site: "...It is however fair to say that the never ending financial struggle coupled with an almost superhuman ability to dodge the zeitgeist have taken their toll, ensuring that we just don't have any fight left in us"... I've known Campbell and Craig from the band for over 10 years and their latest album (IMHO, probably their most accessible and commercial to date) was really the last throw of the dice. Critical acclaim and 5 star reviews don't put food on the table unfortunately. I bumped into Craig recently and he was pretty down about the whole thing but they can now look forward he says to the rest of the tour and treat it as a celebration of the group and not a wake. He doesn't have any immediate plans for the future... After the "Great Debate" that's been raging on this list recently it's news like this that really brings home the plight of those musicians who give us so much pleasure for so little gain.... Bryzo
