So far, I've seen some good responses, but since I don't have a particular stake in Queen, REM, and Cheap Trick (man, that was a particularly bad hits collection!), I'll suggest solo John Lennon. To tie this back to an earlier thread, it's not like Lennon had a sterling solo career, but that Shaved Fish collection that was part of the starter solo Beatles kit for any teenager in the '70s was loaded with turds.
