Frankly, I can recall almost no instances where any compilation by an artist I even remotely like is anything close to satisfying. Speaking of power pop, the absolute most disappointing "best of" package I can think of is the Hudson Brothers' SO YOU ARE A STAR, which is more of a problem than usual, since it remains the only way to get any of their music on CD (unless there have since been reissues I am unaware of?) In any case, I had previously made myself a tape of my own "best of" by the band, and NOT ONE SONG from it ended up on this compilation!! I could not believe it--it couldn't have been a more different set of choices than my own. No "Leavin It's Over," no "Three of Us," no "Lover Come Back To Me," no "Long Long Day," no "Dolly Day," etc... There have been a number of cases where "greatest hits" albums didn't appeal to me because I didn't especially like a band's hits, but this is the most extreme example of one taken from album tracks where the compiler and I were on 100% different wavelengths. _________________________________________________________________ MSN is giving away a trip to Vegas to see Elton John.  Enter to win today. http://msnconcertcontest.com?icid-nceltontagline
