While I'm posting my ass off today, let me stop to absolutely RAVE about Matt Nathanson's 2003 major label release "Beneath These Fireworks".

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that "Sad Songs" popped up on one of my Pandora stations (God bless Pandora and all internet broadcasts!) -- I think it was my Fountains of Wayne or Josh Rouse station.  I immediately stopped what I was doing and had to listen.

It was one of those situations where you immediately like an aartist -- his voice, lyrics and melody made one of those instant connections that happens from time to time.  After a some time spent on his web site (www.mattnathanson.com), I bought "Beneath These Fireworks" and it literally hasn't left my CD player (well, my computer) for weeks.

Do yourself a favour and check him out.  I'm told he's also a very funny and engaging live performer as well.
